Pear Leaf Extract

Age old tradition from roots of Japan. Japanese pear known as 'nashi' in Japanese known for a long shelf life, it is seen as a symbol of long life as well as good health when eaten. Unlike ordinary plants, Japanese pears have the characteristic of storing nutrients for the next generation with no falling leaves. Japanese pear leaves are used for long-term therapy for the treatment for itcy skin in the bath and also used for treating swollen tonsils and stomatis by gargling brewed extract from the leaves. 

It has been studied and well documented that pear extract contains  arbutin,  found more abundant in plant parts having a large surface area, such as branches, leaves, and fruit peel, than in stems and fruit flesh. 

Arbutin is a tyrosinase inhibitor and is extensively used as a human skin-whitening agent.
